Notes
Bad, missing or conflicting dates in feed from the NWS for the following:

8 Using VTEC event begin for effective (from) date/time.

† The word "areal" is the adjective version of the noun "area." An Areal Flood Warning is normally issued for flooding that develops more gradually, usually from prolonged and persistent moderate to heavy rainfall. This results in a gradual ponding or buildup of water in low-lying, flood prone areas, as well as small creeks and streams. The flooding normally occurs more than six hours after the rainfall begins, and may cover a large area.

Defintions Warning (Emergency) — Issued when a hazardous event is occurring or has a very high probability of occurrence. The NWS warns of a dangerous threat to life or property.
Watch — Issued when the risk of a hazardous weather or hydrologic event has increased significantly, but its occurrence, location, and/or timing is still uncertain. It is intended to provide enough lead time so those who need to set their plans in motion can do so. The NWS forecasts the potential for this event.
Advisory (Alert) — Issued when a hazardous event is occurring or has a very high probability of occurrence. Advisories describe events that cause significant inconvenience. The NWS advises caution.
Outlook or Statement — Used to give considerable lead time that a hazardous event may develop.
